Some fields such as fine art, architecture, or divinity have chosen to eponym their first professional period after the bachelor's a "master's degree" (e.g., M.F.A., M.Div.) because most of these degrees wish at least the completion of a bachelor's point while the professional degrees in medicine (the M.D.) and decree (the J.D.) are doctorates.
